Innovative Mast Ventilation: Integrated Efficiency through Adiabatic Cooling
Carbo-Link is working with Foundation Zero on an innovative solution for Project Zero, focusing on the integration of mast ventilation to reduce energy consumption and improve onboard comfort. This approach redefines the role of the mast, incorporating adiabatic cooling to naturally cool the air as it’s drawn into the system, eliminating the need for traditional air conditioning systems.
Our involvement centers on the design and engineering of the carbon spar package, which not only provides the structural performance required for the project but also facilitates the cooling system’s integration. The result is a more energy-efficient and sustainable solution that enhances the overall performance of the yacht.
This project highlights how first-principles design and collaboration can lead to smarter, more sustainable solutions - going beyond the mechanical demands of mast design to meet broader environmental goals.
