ODERBRÜCKE IS AWARDED THE GERMAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION AWARD 2025

The Oderbrücke Küstrin-Kietz–Kostrzyn, has been honored with the prestigious German Bridge Construction Award 2025 in the "Road and Railway Bridges" category. This accolade recognizes the bridge's innovative design, economic efficiency, and sustainability.

The bridge's standout feature is its use of our carbon prestressed tension members in a double-track network arch design - a world first for railway bridges. This innovation significantly reduces the bridge's self-weight while enhancing durability and efficiency. The result is a modern, elegant structure capable of supporting train speeds up to 120 kilometers per hour.

Beyond its technical merits, the Oderbrücke Küstrin serves as a striking white landmark in the river landscape, symbolizing the growing unity of Europe. Its construction was a collaborative effort between Germany and Poland, reflecting a shared commitment to infrastructure development and cross-border connectivity.

The bridge's construction employed a special sliding technique, minimizing environmental impact and reducing construction time. Its increased height and width now accommodate European Class V inland waterway container traffic, enhancing both commercial shipping and environmental protection in the region.

The German Bridge Construction Award 2025 celebrates the Oderbrücke Küstrin as a testament to innovative engineering, aesthetic excellence, and international collaboration. This bridge not only enhances transportation infrastructure but also stands as a beacon of sustainable and forward-thinking design.
