Leopard 3 — A Pinnacle of Super-Maxi Racing and Luxury

Since her launch in 2007, Leopard 3 has stood out as one of the world’s premier super-maxi sailing yachts, a 30-metre, Farr Yacht Design-crafted marvel built by McConaghy Boats. Conceived to deliver both blistering offshore performance and refined luxury, she combines a canting keel, water ballast, twin daggerboards, and an advanced carbon rig to maximise speed in all conditions.

Leopard 3 has amassed an extraordinary official racing record, including line honours at the Middle Sea Race (2009) and the Fastnet Race (2009, 2011), as well as setting transatlantic passage and Round the Island Race records as an IRC-rated maxi monohull. In the winter of 2015–2016, she underwent a major performance refit that included the installation of a complete Carbo-Link rigging package. This custom-engineered solution was designed to minimise weight aloft, increase stiffness, and improve load management across her towering 47 m mast, giving her an even sharper competitive edge for demanding offshore races around the globe. That same refit shaved off significant weight and optimised her sail plan, efforts that have propelled her to renewed success, including an overall victory under IRC in the 2024 RORC Caribbean 600.

As of her latest campaign, Leopard 3 remains a top contender in demanding offshore events, such as the Aegean 600, where her refreshed setup earned a commanding “triple”—line honours, a new course record, and overall success under IRC, demonstrating the power and precision of her high-performance rigging.
