Perini Navi officially launches their 2nd largest yacht, the 70m 'Sybaris'

Engineering a full rigging package for the 'largest and most advanced sailing yacht since the Maltese Falcon' was a thoroughly enjoyable project. Working in close collaboration with Perini Navi, Rondal and the owners representatives we have engineered and installed a cutting-edge rigging package to enable fast and stable sailing.

Optical sensing in all cables - managed by an advanced computer system - enable real-time analysis of load transfers when sailing. Enabling the crew to better manage sail and rig tuning it also greatly enhances safety management - a key variable when considering a vast 5,842m2 sail area is powering a yacht weighing in at an incredible 870 gross tons.

Package includes:

61m mizzen mast:

  • Discontinuous laterals.
  • 1x forestay split into 2x lower forestays.
  • 2x D3 forwards.
  • 2x running backstays (in collab. wth BSI).

72m main mast:

  • Discontinuous laterals.
  • Blade and reacher stays with torque tubes.
  • Backstay.
  • 2x runners (in collab. with BSI).
